Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to seek private counseling and if she doesn’t, she could be headed back to jail. Lohan was back in court today for a progress hearing and the judge in her case was none too pleased about how the troubled starlet has been following court orders.
So far, Lindsay Lohan has completed only 33 hours of community service out of a court-ordered 480 hours. “She can’t be nickel and diming these hours,” Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan’s attorney. “I know there is a movie deal. I will not take into consideration — ‘sorry, I”m at the Gotti movie’ — I will not do it. She needs to complete the community service within the year.”
Judge Sautner also warned Lindsay Lohan that the probation department needs to be able to contact her with a working phone number when they try to reach her.
Lohan’s worst problem, the judge said, is that she has failed to begin sessions with a private therapist. “She needs to get into counseling, and I am going to give her 21 days to get into counseling,” Sautner said. Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, claimed his client was worried about the cost of private counseling and whether or not she would be covered by her insurance.
Judge Sautner was having none of it, however, and said Lohan “needs to find an individual therapist that takes a credit card.” If Lohan has not shown she has enrolled in a therapy program within 21 days, Sautner said she would revoke her probation. She also said Lohan must complete three more anti-shoplifting classes before she returns to court on October 19.
